So Marisa is starting to have mini-tantrums. Like when you take away a sippy cup or if its time to put a toy away and do something else. SHE FREAKS THE FUCK OUT.
Flails her body, arches her back, throws herself on the floor-face down and kicks, silent cries, big ole alligator tears.
Oh its been fun. The best is when she isnt ready to get out of the tub. Its like trying to wrangle a wet slippery seal. good times.
Do I just walk away and ignore her? How do you handle such situations?
I posted about this a couple weeks ago - I am struggling too! I dont know what to do. Most of the time I watch but ignore - make sure he's not going to hurt himself. Or DH and I have been trying to 'get ahead' of the tantrums. He throws so many that sometimes its unpredictable, but I have a good idea of what will get him going. So I have another toy on hand to 'trade' or frankly, just let it go sometimes. Like, throwing his cup on the floor when he's in his highchair. He does it to get a reaction, and when I tell him no no or ANYTHING, he freaks out. So now I just look at him, pick it up, and dont give it back to him. I dont say anything. He definitely didnt like that, so he hasn't thrown it much since!!
