I am so excited to be gimpy no more! I have passed the 10 week mark since my last bunion surgery and I am fully cleared to return to normal activities (slowly of course - no running a marathon quite yet). I have been working out the past few weeks in my basement - upper body weights, then some very low impact cardio DVDs (no jumping or anything high impact), then added in some lower body weights. 10 weeks, if all felt and went well, was the mark for me to return to normal exercise - running, Crossfit, etc. I just returned from completing Day 1, week 1 of C25k outside. Both feet held up very well with the jogging, and it felt so wonderful to be outside in the fresh (and a little chilly) air. I'm heading back to Crossfit next week - I'm going to be modifying the workouts for awhile until my feet get used to the movement again, but I'm so ready to get back to my normal life. I also love knowing that I don't have any other surgeries - when I had my left foot done last summer it was a little bittersweet going back to CF because I knew I would have to stop again for my right foot. This time I'm good to go, no more planned surgeries (but am hoping to be pregnant in the next few months, so that will mean modifying workouts but at least I'll hopefully be able to continue working out through pregnancy).
