PIP- Should I keep these maxi dresses?

I ordered the Thea maxi dress from J Crew and they came today. The fabric feels great and I love both colors (I got a green and a deep red), but I am not sure if the fit is the best.

I do think it is too big, but should I order a smaller dress or just return them? I feel like my stomach looks really wide- not sure if my body is cut out for the elastic waistband look.

Hmmm, I like it from the side, but not so much from the front. It looks too loose and kind of like a green toga

I feel like it's hard to tell because it is too big. There are aspects that don't look right - but a diff size may fix that. I'd at least try the smaller size before deciding.

I vote to return both and I wouldn't order a smaller size. There are much more flattering maxi's out there.

Return. Even if it was a smaller size, I don't think it's right for your body type. You can do better.

I agree, return. The style of the dress and how the waist hits just isn't right and I don't think a smaller size will help.

I say go try it in a smaller size. I wonder if the line across your chest would move higher due to a shorter strap? Because this size just looks like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. I would also ditch the little tie belt it comes with. I wonder what it would look with a wider belt.

Before I got all the :N: feedback, I had already called JC and ordered them in a smaller size. I just tried calling them to cancel the order, but it is already in the process of shipping so I couldn't cancel it. I guess I might as well try it?

I don't think it is very flattering. You could always try the smaller size and report back.
