I just saw them recommended somewhere else the other day (and thought WTH?). I wish I could remember where, but I know it wasn't Real Simple, because I don't read it.
I just dont understand why there are so many WAY better blogs out there that just don't get the recognition that YHL does. I guess it's because they are marketing geniuses, good for them. But they are famous for good marketing, not good content in my opinion.
Ha! Yeah, I'm starting to think the same thing about Real Simple. I used to love it and I still do for the pictures fast read. The inspirational stories are all about "finding yourself" the recipes are repeats and overdone and the cleaning tips are either ridiculously stupid or common knowledge. I'm paid up for like 2 years, but after that I'm done.
And this is going to age me and make me sound like my mother, but I really love Family Circle lately..lol. It's only like $5.00, the decor ideas are easy and fun and the fashion is real life. I could take or leave the recipes. It rotates between stuff I can't find here/don't have time for and crap food..but I enjoy the rest.
I quit getting it, too. It was so dang expensive compared to others and most of the stuff now sits in the "duh" column for me.
Dairy, count me in the old crowd too because I love my Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day, Redbook, and Family Circle. Each of those subscriptions are SO cheap and I walk away with a lot more "stuff" than some of the pricier ones.

Ha! That's just it. I subscribe to all those except Good Housekeeping but I do get BHG in it's place. I read magazines as a guilty for fun pleasure so I don't get all wrapped up in "status" and "content" really. I really do enjoy all of those though. And for less than $5.00 a subscription (some might have even been free) it's a cheap thrill though and I do learn a lot of random things from them.
Thanks for posting about this dairy. I dropped RS awhile ago and was reconsidering starting again. But after reading some of these comments.....I will not renew!
