Ooooaaahhh my Wecks breakfast is incredibly sub-par.
Well, I knew that I only had to push it for a little while before it was downhill. It was easily the toughest 9 min/mile of my life!(None are easy, ftr) If I had been running a longer course I would have slowed way down to keep some gas in the tank.
I definitely started out more conservatively than I would have on a flat course, and I'm glad I did. I was actually doing pretty well up until about mile 7. Then I just started to flag. At the halfway point I was actually on track to finish in 2:00:xx, but the rest of those hills just wore me out.
But then again, this was only the 3rd time ever running 10 miles and I was only a little slower than on my mostly flat "home" route.
Yep. I am not super thrilled with my time, but really could not have done better. I gave it everything I had and it definitely built some character and mental toughness.

That's what it's all about, and IMO THAT is what makes a race successful. We all want to go faster...that's why we keep racing!
Now you have to report on your next 10 mile training run! I bet you'll enjoy it even more.
Thanks CB!!! We were thinking that maybe we can find a race at some point that all 3 of us can do and then go get Le Peep waffles. Waffle combos if we're feeling frisky.

I'm always feeling frisky. LOL. But yeah, let's all race!! Preferably sometime before mid-July, just in case I do end up moving.
Yes, I did both last year. They were really fun, but SO HOT! And I just realized that Cherry Garcia is on the same day as the Storrie Lake Olympic, so I'm out for that one .
Race for autism 5k is on Saturday 4/6 and it is a pancake flat course. And early enough for a waffle stop afterwards. Would that maybe work?

kams and I are doing the Rio Grande Tri on April 27 - advertised as flat, fast, and perfect for beginners. Plus, it's dirt cheap for a tri. Come join us? (kidding...I know you're doing your first with a friend)
I'd be happy to give you a ride if it doesn't totally creep you out, & if the car is the only issue. Or I could even pick you up at a public place that's within walking distance. I've never had a speeding ticket and you know my full name . If it doesn't work out though, we can keep looking
