Ok, one more race post and then I'm done

When I crossed the finish line, almost as soon as I stepped foot off the mat, two people basically assaulted me to get the timing chip off. Like, they just walked up to me and started trying to take it off my foot before I even had a chance to think. I can untie my own shoe! I may or may not have snapped a little bit.

My H said I was pretty bitchy about it, but wtf? Even under the best circumstances I do not enjoy having strangers all up in my business, much less touching me without permission. But when I am completely worn out and still in mental survival mode? I don't even want my H touching me.

I thought that was pretty weird.

That's very RunFit (the race org). It shocked me the fist time, too. They rip it off your shoe immediately at all of their races with zero warning!

Did you have it tied to your shoelaces? I see why that would have made it even more annoying to have them getting it off of you.

LOL at the comments! This happened to me at my second 5k, I could barely register what was going on. I will say this, at my last 5k, when I bent over to take off my chip and stood back up, I totally got light headed. So if you're a wimp like me, it's actually appreciated.
