The weekend, I mean.
Do anything ridiculously awesome? Get any D&R done?
We went on a hike Saturday morning (5 miles total, 1600 ft elevation change - ooof). We left late and by the time we got home, it was ridiculously warm out (direct sunshine in CA will kill ya, even if it's only in the 70s). I am still trying to figure out how anyone does anything in the summer here. LOL
Then we attacked some house stuff - took the debris which had been sitting on the front porch (an old vanity and sink combo, plus some other stuff) up to the Restore to donate it, etc. R put the floor in our master bedroom closet and downstairs coat closet (cedar), put up the shelf in my laundry "room" (which is more of a laundry corner, but whatever), and we tackled a LOT of yard work. And the house still looks overgrown. Egads, there's a lot of yardwork to get done. I hate raking, but I'm pretty sure there are 10 years of leaves in the little area next to the house/parking lot. Ugh. I did approximately 32 square feet of raking and filled 5 yard bags. And there's at LEAST 100 square feet left ...
Nothing exciting, just jumping in to say how adorable your photo is. And I thought about you Saturday night as we drove through Barberton and again wondered just where you lived and thought you would shudder driving through there. Lol. H is from there and I trust him about driving there, but I won't. We have friends that live in the area. I desperately want them to move to our town.
A) Thanks!!!
B) I grew up in the Canton area ... specifically in Plain Township, between North Canton and Louisville. My grandma's house (where my mom grew up) was in Cuyahoga Falls and my aunt and uncle live in Stow, though - so I'm pretty familiar with the Akron area.

We have HALF a playset set up. It was ridiculously nice Friday and then Saturday was cold and dreary and it rained on Sunday, so they didn't get it all finished. They're working on it more tonight and then tomorrow too if they don't get it done.
We had a pretty exciting weekend. We emptied the cabinets and I sanded the doors/drawers of the bottom cabinets and got our mini-kitchen area ready in the mud room. We also bought appliances which was fun. There is a local family run appliance store that does a once a month warehouse sale. They usually have scratch and dents, floor models and overstocks/closeouts but I've learned that you can go and order anything you want at a decent discount. We ended up with a brand new slide in induction range, floor model 800 plus series Bosch dishwasher and an over the range microwave for $3K including tax.
We had a very productive weekend, sorting/recycling/tossing/packing. Probably the most production one yet, even though we really only worked on Sunday. In some ways it is do much easier to get the work done with DH around to help with the lifting and decision making, but in other ways, it is much more difficult. We have very different approaches to things. ;p
Saturday was kind of fun. It was my birthday, and we had planned to work on the house stuff, but we had errands to run so we fit in lunch out (dessert!)and a massage (I got a massage while DH got a couple of errands out of the way). We got a shower head for the new house and steak knives (I don't eat meat, but the people who do have nothing to cut it with when they come to my house), turned in notice at our storage unit and Curves. We also decided on flooring for the new house and talked to the contractor about the windows/door for my studio.
DH kept the kids all day Saturday so I could go running with a friend and then thrift / consignment store shopping. Sunday we went to church and I spent the afternoon making flower arrangements that I sell at a local monument company.
I also worked on the neighborhood newsletter for the HOA. I am the secretary and I have to laugh at the HOA posts around here. The only thing our HOA enforces is paying your $45.00 a year dues so we can keep the street lights on.
The only D&R we did was daydreaming about how to rework pictures on our stairs wall. We also have a laundry room remodel that we have been working on for 8ish months. It is functional but not finished. We still need to put up the crown and install the counter over the washer and dryer. Someday...
Our babymoon was this weekend. It was just what we needed before she arrives. Now I'm attempting to get the nursery as done as can be this weekend just in case there are any early surprises. Per the ladies at work, she is going to be a tax baby which is 12 days before her due date.

The most awesome, exciting thing was the END of classes for my students. All I have to do is wait for a few of them to email me essays to make up for missed classes, then comes the graduation ceremony. I'm so relieved it's over!

We got a lot of cleaning and de-cluttering done. I sold some things on a Craigslist like selling wall and got a bunch of stuff ready to be donated to the thrift store. I started my first seedlings for our garden. I emptied DD's bookcase, moved it, and reorganized all of the books. DD helped me clean all of the baseboards. I steam cleaned our upholstered furniture and cleaned out our entertainment center. I am about half done with the closet under our stairs that seems to catch all of the junk.
We didn't really do anything fun, but parent's night out at the Y is this upcoming weekend.
