What would you pay her? (dogsitter)

Friend watched our dogs while we went out of town. She was there Sat 5pm-Sunday 3pm, so a little less than 24 hours but she did come to our house and she's really great with them (they lurve her, and are fairly lazy low maintenance dogs).

What would you pay her?

I totally suck at this. I'm afraid of offending someone and DH thinks I always overpay...

ive dog/house sat on a couple occasions and always get $40/day. that seems to be the going rate here, and it's a huge cost savings over boarding for people who have multiple dogs.

i am in a higher cost of living so depending on your area i'd consider $25-50.

When I dogsit, I get paid $20/day to check in the dog twice, make sure it has food and let it out. Based on the fact that she stayed the night, I would pay $30-40.

I am not the person to ask....I seriously over pay anyone willing to watch my four dogs. It is time consuming and I want them to do it again, so it is worth it to me.

My daughter got a set of tri-ply cookware for staying at my house and watching my dogs when we went to Japan for 5 days. We had a full fridge for her too.lol

To board our dog for that amount of time would probably run us about $75 (including giving meds) so I think $50 might be good.

I would say probably $50 this time and discuss rates with dogsitter before hand in the future.

When I dogsat, I usually got paid right around what it would've been to board the dog.  For a two day period, I usually made $40-50, but that was a couple of years ago.
