Whenever I do an intense workout (running, Jillian Michaels, etc) I get extremely warm, red-faced and sweaty. It takes a good 60-90 min to feel cooled down completely. I've always been this way, even in high school in prime shape; I can still talk through my workouts so I'm not overdoing it. This 'extreme glistening' makes it challenging/longer to work out in the morning before getting ready to work, and means I can't do anything beyond gentle walking during lunch times. I work out at home. I'll take off my socks and shoes right away, and my sweaty bra. Spend about 10-15min stretching, super cool shower, have tried cool washcloths on neck and wrists for pressure points. But 30-40min later it's still tough to blow dry my hair and put on makeup without sweating through it again; and it will just be harder in summer since we don't have central air. I know it's a bit of a good sign that my metabolism is revved up, but it's not very practical.
Do you have any tips for getting cooled down safely and effectively after a heavy duty workout, when you need to look presentable right after?
Are you working too hard or are you prone to flushing? My sister is prone to flushing so she is subject to it and just has to wait it out. But you may be working too hard for your current fitness level as well.

I'm prone to flushing as well. I haven't found anything that really does the trick yet, but sitting in front of a fan while guzzling ice cold water does help.
I am prone to flushing and nothing seems to help that but as my fitness increased, I definatley noticed that I was sweating less and I cooled down quicker.
