WWYD if you were me? I'm looking for a white clean feel, but it needs some help yet. New direction entirely welcome too.
Notes: I'm looking for mainly easy decor changes. Shower curtain stays. I just got it yesterday. The vanity, lights, fixtures and anything major must stay. It's not that old, it's all in good shape, blends with the rest of the house and TBH I like it. I also don't have time for major projects. I'll take paint suggestions too, but it'll be fall before I get to it. I'm burned out on paint. I also love that picture and would like to build around it a bit more.
BTW bathtub is in the corner next to the linen closet. Toilet immediately to the right between bathtub and shelf, under the window. Didn't think ya'll wanted a pic of that. Door by the shower goes back to our bedroom. Door by the shelf goes to our closet.
Ignore the burned out lightbulb. That literally happened just as I went to take the picture.
Sorry, they're blurry. This room is hard to take a pic of.
And what about a basic white bathmat (like the towel kind?) in front of the shower? What about a white potted orchid? Orchids are very spa-ish and do really well in bathrooms.

Very boring. Which I like, but maybe you don't?
You have a few things with color (the painting, the branches in a vase, the roses by the tub) with color but I don't feel like they really tie in together.
I think it is hard to pull off a crisp clean white look with wood colored doors and trim.

I think a light sea-foamy green would look nice with white linens, to give it that spa/zen feel, and also help the white pop.
Also an easy update would be to frame out your mirror (I have seen people just add molding around it, and it is an easy yet dramatic difference).
I like the idea of the white orchids, or you could roll up three small towels, and tie them with twine to put on your bath corner space, kinda spa-ish
ETA - just saw your post below, so not sure if this is where you were headed. To me the white is very peaceful/spa like, so that's the direction I went...
Thanks girls! Yeah, the mirror needs some help. We looked into framing it out, but it's not perfectly centered, so trim won't fit between the door and the mirror, unless we cut it down, which looks stupid with the other 3 sides then. It's on my house bucket list to get a pretty already framed mirror up there someday. I'm just scared to see what kind of disaster is behind it right now..lol.

Ooh..I like that idea. I have twine coming out my ears. Those green towels are pretty seafoamy in real life. Maybe I should just put the red ones away all together? And I don't know where I'm headed TBH. I know it needs help but how at this point. I'm open to a lot. But I'm simple and cheap and there lies the problem. LOL.

I think you can actually glue the frame on to the mirror, so that wouldn't be an issue. You would just lose a little bit of mirror space, but it seems fairly large...

I actually like boring esp. in a bathroom! Our bedroom is also full of stripes and pattern, so I wanted something plain that'll tie in no matter how I change up the bedding. It's just not right, kwim?
My problem also is and you're right..I don't know how to make this stuff all tie together. It looks fine separately but it's blah all together. Whatever, it's just stuff I had around. Any of that can go elsewhere.
I'm not going to lie....the red in the towels and the pic you have just don't "go" with white and peaceful IMO. I feel like it clashes. I'm thinking blues and greens. Even yellow.

I hear ya! So then maybe keep the white walls, and curtain, and add some color with the green towels. Maybe try ditching the red ones. I usually switch out my red/rust stuff in the spring with yellow, and leave my green year round. Also, do you have a valance or anything on that window? That could add some interest/texture too...

No need to lie. You're right. I was just thinking, Hmm..red in the picture. Red in our bedroom with green. It'll work. It doesn't. I"ll pack them up and see. I have tons of towels. I'll just keep the green ones. I thought about yellow. Blue isn't for me at all, I'll be honest there.

The color saturation doesn't match, which is why it's sticking out.
Pink, light mauve, or a muted coral would go well with that green.

I think this is the main problem with the "all white" bathroom look. The wood interrupts it too much. I think you would have to paint the trim and the doors and the vanity to get closer to that.
I agree with pp that you could glue the frame directly to the mirror. I think the bathtub looks a bit lonely but it is hard to tell how much space there is on the left. I was imaging a small bench or garden stool next to it with or without rolled towels.
This is probably more work than you want but someone posted a blog link a few weeks ago to someone that tiled her vanity top to give it a whole new look.
If you want it to look "white", then you need to commit to white accessories. Even with the print and the colored towels, having everything else white, (tissue box, candles, flowers....) would make a difference.
Hm, I think I might be in the "can't get there from here" camp. I know where you want to be, all chic white spa, and I think you're limited by the permanent items.
I know you're loving cool whites these days, but I think something warmer would work. In this bath, the owners had put up a cool whitish gray on the walls and I think it made the wood look super orange, but when I did a light cream, I feel like it calmed down and became more of an accent and less of a focal point. Your tub and shower curtain are already a soft white and matching them might help with cohesion (cohesiveness?).

This is good advice. I do have white candles. I'll see what else I can dig up that's white.

Thanks. You're probably right. My permanent items are limited, but I have no desire to go painting my trim white, redoing vanities etc. when anything I DIY would look twice as bad and it's all in good perfect shape. I have better things to do with my time at this point. TBM has a good point. I'll play around with more white accessories and see what I get. Bathroom decor is hard. It's either all chintzy or I don't want to clean it..lol. Oh and the picture is off color wise. The tub, shower, wall color are all the same shade of white...I promise. IRL it totally blends in...maybe a bit too much actually?
The golden oak woodwork and cabinetry is really not going to go with a spa feel in shades of white. Since you don't want to paint the wood work, I would embrace the golden tone in go with a pale yellow.

Like magdala said, our bathroom in MN had original 60's yellow-orange-brownish tile, and when I repainted the walls to a yellow-toned cream it actually made the tiles look less yellow-y.
I think changing to light green or blue towels, and that same color of stuff on the tub, shelf, and wall, will make a huge difference. I would go green, personally.
I can't really see what is next to the tub but it looks bare. Could you put the picture over the tub, maybe, to make it more of a focal point? It might be swallowed but you could surround it with candle sconces? Possibly add a small bookshelf or table next to the tub to hold towels, lotions, etc.?
I really like that picture and I think it could be a relaxing bathroom but like PPs suggested with a different hue.
