I don't know. It's certainly a gimmick and it's given him 15 minutes of fame for no reason. But I do appreciate that he's opened his eyes a bit to the emotional struggle that goes along with weight gain/loss. I hope that it will make him a better trainer.

I agree with this.
I don't know that I could go to that extreme. But having been at the heavier point in the spectrum, I suppose I wouldn't need to.

I think if he had the attitude of, "Look, I dropped 70 lbs no problem; why can't you?" I would have a huge issue with this. A quick, intentional gain of 70 lbs, does not a struggle with obesity make. However, that does not seem to be his attitude. I appreciate that it came from a place of desired understanding and if it helps him help his clients, I can respect that.
