I kinda dig the color for one room, but it's sure a strange color to paint an entire house. I can see how a true medium gray would be hard to match with that carpet, though.
Online color visualizers are never ever ever right. Color isn't color without the light in YOUR room making it do things. You are genuinely just killing time by playing with paint online.
Gray is hard. Every shade has undertones you have to work with. I freely admit that I really dislike the gray trend (why would anyone want to paint their entire house the same color as the inside of a prison?), but if it's what you're convinced you want, you'll get further by grabbing every gray paint chip at the store and looking at them in your own home.
We just painted a large portion of our house SW Balanced Beige, which is a greige color. Our first floor is wood and white trim, so it looks good. We have an upper hallway that is carpet, more of a cream than a beige, but the paint on the walls does tend to draw out any dark parts of the carpet (ie, wear tracks, etc). So I can see how grey/greige isn't ideal with a light carpet.
If you are interested in a purple grey, try Perfect Greige. It was so purple in our house.
In the end, you might be better off with a tan/taupe/beige if you want a neutral. Those colors would likely blend best with beige carpet and look nice against white trim. I don't mind the blue, but in a softer/lighter tone. I think susie uses a lot of blues in her house, you might check out her colors.
Another thought - are there are colors in the fireplace that you can pull out? Not the red, but the color of the mortar, the non-reddish tones of the brick? It's a nice feature (I like brick, others may not), and right now the blue doesn't seem to do much for it. Try one of those apps where you take a photo and then pinpoint a spot you want to color match and see what comes up - the app you are using might do that.

We have beige carpet throughout our upstairs and used grey in two of our bedrooms. DS's room is BM's Moonshine, which looks neutral on the card, but reads smoky blue-ish on the walls with our lighting. The other bedroom is BM Classic Gray, which reads as a true pale gray in my house--no blue / purple / green undertones at all.
In my experience, the color visualizers don't do a good job showing you what a color will actually look like on your walls, particularly grays, as they have such varied undertones. I think you'd probably be much happier going to a store, picking up a bunch of chips and sample pots and throwing a bunch of colors up on the wall to actually get an idea of what it will look like in your house.
I'm not sure I've ever seen an online visualizer NOT make a paint color look weird. I really don't think that carpet is the hurdle the visualizer is making you think it is.
We used BM Revere Pewter which is another greige. It goes well with beige carpet. Downstairs we went a shade darker and did rich gray blue tones and/or sages in the bedrooms. I think as long as your colors that you use are a true color and not a white with a tint, you should be ok doing whatever you wish.
Our MB has beige carpet and we went with either SW Functional Gray or Requisted Gray (they were on the same card, just one shade apart) for that room and the other for the Bath. They are what I would call a stone gray with a hint of brown undertones. We wanted to go with a brownish gray b/c of the carpet as well as the tile we had in the bath. I love how it looks together.
HOw about a gray with a greenish base - like SW Rushing River? The carpet does have an orangey beige tone vs. earthy/brown or yellow/cream base. I can see how it might be tough.
