I just unfollowed her blog the other day. I used to love all her projects and get so inspired. Lately, it's a lot of filler posts and I guess my taste has changed b/c I don't think the projects are that great anymore. I wonder why she deleted your comment. So strange!
I don't follow her blog, but I just checked out that post.
The room is pretty, but... she put wrapping paper on the back wall of a kid's closet??? That seems kind of insane to me. I get that it makes a pretty picture for the blog - looks like wallpaper - but is it going to last more than a day and a half of actual kid-use without ripping, starting to fall down...?
Things like that are pet peeves of mine in house blogs. Things that seem misappropriated for the sake of a pretty photo that aren't actually going to work long term.
I wouldn't want a picture of my parents on my nightstand. Just saying.
ETA- Her blog isn't a daily read of mine but I still enjoy it, especially the BOTB posts. I do think that of all the bloggers who insist on painting furniture, she actually does a good job.

I agree with you on principal, but it might be ok with a 9 year old. My 5 year old would make quick work of it though!

This bothers me as well, and is why I have a love/hate relationship with many of the more popular home decor blogs these days. While their style is inspirational, even admirable at times, the amount of staging and Photoshopping bloggers often utilize is ridiculous. It's unfortunately become the standard, and is no different than showing flawless size zero models on magazine covers. Sure, it's inspirational, but in reality it's unrealistic and completely unattainable.
In that particular room, Kate's fabric choices and coordination are fantastic! On the other hand, that is the most boring dollhouse I ever did see. Unless it's a family heirloom, what kid wants to play with a white-on-white-on-white dollhouse? It doesn't ruin any of her photos, which I suppose for a decor blogger is a plus, but it just looks...a little sad.

I'm close to it too. I feel like she's gotten a lot more commercial/magazine-y (and a bit preachy, maybe) and she's less "real" than the blogs I really like reading.
