Jeans that fit like Gap Long & Lean?

I really hate patronizing the Gap because of their annoying return policies and the fact that they think I'm too fat to carry my size/length combination in store (I wear a 14A, and apparently if you're a 14 they think you should be at least 5'10'' so that their regular length will fit).

Sadly, nothing fits me better than the long and lean cut. Does anyone have any suggestions for a similar fit? They're jeans, so I don't want to go crazy on the price. I think the most I'd spend would be $80.

I wear a 14 also and my favorite jeans are by Tommy Hilfiger. You can get them at Macy's and they are always on sale. I also have heard good things about Kut jeans and Not your Daughter's jeans that are also around that price point. I think you can get them both at Nordstroms.

Thanks! I haven't tried TH yet. I tried on a couple of pairs of NYDJ at Macys, but maybe the Nordstrom ones are better? The ones they had at Macys were very thin and had way too much stretch. My thighs looked like sausages. I was pretty disappointed because I'd heard a lot of good things as well.

They are probably the same then. Try Kut or TH. They are thicker denim (at least I can vouch for TH!) and are really flattering. Plus, they usually have the short length in the stores.

This is above your price point, but I love Paige Hidden Hills. Not too much stretch. They remind me of my old Long & Leans (although those were from years and years ago, so I'm not sure if they are still similar).

I used to wear long and lean but now that I'm a fatty I wear Kut and Talbot's jeans.

Thanks - yeah, that's a bit high for me right now. Good to know though so I can keep an eye for any that are on sale.
