2 of the last 3 items we've sold on CL, the new owners have either texted or emailed us to say thanks. We sold our old grill, and they guy sent us a picture of it later that night filled with food. And just yesterday a man sent me an email saying how much appreciated the deal he got on our powerwasher and that he really enjoyed chatting with my husband. Things like this have happened a couple of other times as well. I've only ever bought concert tickets of CL, and have never replied after the fact. So is this normal CL etiquette and I'm just a rude buyer or is it out of the ordinary?
This is going to sound so damned weird, but I sold a corset on CL many years ago. I sold it to someone one state over (only time I've done this), and was able to confirm her identity on FB. I also waited 2 weeks for the funds (all $20)to totally clear before mailing.
Anyway, she totally emailed me a picture of herself wearing it. Lol.
I've never done this when I've purchased something.

I sold a really nice wooden laundry bin and the guy texted me a pic of it in his bathroom saying it was the perfect size and how his wife loved it. They didn't even try to haggle with the price! I thought it was sweet, but I've never followed up with a CL purchase that I have made.
We got our tub and sink for our bathroom on CL. The guy had purchased it from a tear-down of an old home, wanting to put it in his own house, then plans changed and they decided not to remodel. The seller asked DH for us to please send him a pic of the finished bathroom because he really wanted to see how it came out. DH promised he would. Two years later, I still periodically bug DH and tell him he needs to send the pics (we have plenty online, it would be really easy to do). So far DH hasn't. I need to get the guy's e-mail from him and do it myself.
I've met mostly really nice people from CL. A few weeks ago a couple came to my house and spent an hour in my garage disassembling some IKEA crap. They were so nice! The wife and I chatted for an hour while her H took everything apart.
I've gotten a couple follow ups but I've never given them. I did once have a play date with someone I bought a dresser from. She lived in my area and had kids the same age as mine.
both ways. My favorite was this really nice dog bed that I sold- the kind that's like a mini sofa. They had driven far for it and were really happy with it and texted a pic of their dogs lounging. I've followed up a couple times myself, but not all the time. There was a dresser that I refinished that I really wanted to email them, but thought it would be weird since it was a couple months later.

I have only sold plants on CL (when an experiment ends, they need homes). Only once did I receive a photo after the fact, but it was nice to see my big Rhododendron blooming in it's new home. Kore- LOL. I would not want someone to forward boudoir photos after a sale!

I haven't gotten one or sent one, but I admit I considered it. I recently got a good deal on a buffet that goes perfectly in our DR and I was excited I thought about emailing a pic to the owner. I didn't want to be annoying, though, so I refrained.
If I was on the receiving end I'd probably be tickled that the buyer was happy, though.
