Yes I <3 this show! The first season was the best though IMO because it was all in her big fancy flip home. But since it has taken so long to sell she had to resort to doing spaces for other people and volunteering (or what is it she's doing?) with the people who bought the run down flip she tried to buy.
Anyway I especially love that she's nearby in the Twin Cities. I wonder if @justdairy watches the show? She'd be even closer.
I love this show too. Since I was a long--time Twin Cities resident and recently moved away, I love seeing bit of "home" in the show.
I really like how she recycles old stuff all the time instead of always buying new.
What did you think of her idea to paint th Case house purple? I thought it was crazy, I'm glad she picked something else. I think that house has great potential, although it's not in a good neighborhood at all. Really. It could be a hard sell, especially to families with kids. That area has some of the highest crime rates in the whole metro area, and the public schools assigned to that area are bad too. Some St. Paul public schools are good, but not the ones on the east side.
DH thinks she's got a little BSC in her, but appreciates that she restores a lot. There was an episode where did a bathroom and the vanity top had a chunk missing out of the back corner. All he kept saying was "OMG there is a chunk missing, why does the camera keep showing that angle."
I haven't seen many of the new shows I guess, we usually catch them on the weekends in the morning, so some are old repeats.
I like it too! I like her spunky attitude. And the fact that the projects are a little less 'ta da' like other HGTV shows. The results often look a little more real and less magazine-like too b/c she really is on a budget.

I wish! I love house shows. Sadly, we don't have cable and I don't have time for TV. I can't complain though. TV has never really been my thing. It's my fun guilty pleasure on vacation/in a hotel/at my parents...lol. So I'll have to check it out sooner than later.
We watch it! My DH says at the beginning of every show, "Why in the hell would you cover that up???" She's cool, I feel like I'd like to hang out with her, haha! Her accent kind of drives me bonkers though.
i love the show, too. it is probably one of my favorites for renovation/restoration. i like that it is one of the ones from diynetwork that they put on hgtv from time to time.
it would definitely be priced higher in some other neighborhoods. In the show, they keep saying that the Case house is in an "up and coming" neighborhood, but I would say it still has a long way to go. I wouldn't buy a house there.
