We set her bag of food on the ground because she doesn't plow through it and a 20lb bag can last a long time with her. She's perfectly healthy, just not a huge eater. She does love her snacks and will take any chance to steal people food.
So the bag is about 1/4 full and she has managed to throw piles of it in the corner under the island, push it across the kitchen and make more piles of it, then she drug her food bag to another part and left it there.
She LOVES digging around in her food with her snout, like, favorite past time - ever. I have tried putting her food in a bowl but she "snuffles" (it's what I call whatever it is she does) it all out of the bowl and then pushes the bowl around the house like "why didn't you feed me?!"
So I've been cleaning the kitchen and I picked up her food bag. She's been running between the piles of dog food and eating, as though each area holds a new flavor.
I told my Husband I'm not picking it up, she can just eat it. Which might seem gross to some people and it bugs me a bit, but she is hilarious and I cannot help but to laugh at her. And if I did pick it up, she'd just push it out again.
At my parent's house, we feed her in her cage. She pushes all the food out of the cage and then whines because she doesn't have food.
Dogs are weird.
This was a really long post about my dog.
Now she's smacking her bowl (which she pushed into the dinning room) and whining because it doesn't contain food.
Lol, what a weirdo. I used to pet sit for a friend who's Rhodesian Ridgeback was afraid of bowls. She would not eat food out of a bowl, and would only very hesitantly drink water out of bowl. She preferred her food on the floor (gross) and her water in a cup or mug.
Lol, that's strange that she'd take it from, what is essentially, a smaller bowl.
I'm not a fan of my dog eating her food off of the floor but she also licks the floor for hours on end sometimes just because she can. I'd imagine eating off the floor is the cleaner of the two.
