My new kitchen has one small wall that's technically part of the tiny breakfast nook area and it's begging for something. Since our last kitchen had no blank wall space, this is a new dilemma!
I suggested we hang - you know - food pictures there. Novel idea! I thought I'd take 4 of my fave blog pictures and hang them. I saw one of my fave food bloggers had done that and I liked it. DH think that's the most ridiculous idea EVAH and won't go for it.
Now I'm wondering about doing the whole wall in chalkboard paint, ala everyhomeblogoutthere. The wall is so small that the entire thing could just be done. Plus it's not close enough to the food prep area to have chalk+food=grossness going on. {course I haven't tried to pitch that idea to him either...}

Currently nothing because every available space is covered in cabinets or shelves. It is driving me a little batty, actually. In past homes we have hung pans/lids, metal mixing bowls, measuring cups, spatulas/ladles/tongs, trivets, knives on a magnetic bar, and a 3-level wire fruit basket.
Nothing at the moment. I saw a photograph of cherries that I'm dying to buy on Etsy. I'm considering it for my dining room even though I know it's better suited for a kitchen. Our kitchen isn't going to have pink/red tones though.
A picture I took of a very colorful rooster, a rooster key hanging rack, a small set of coat hooks by the back door with a bird and birdcage on it, and a painted wood sign with lemons on it. I love birds, and the lemon sign was just the perfect colors for my yellow and blue kitchen.
I brought home one of my grandmother's old waist aprons last weekend and was trying to figure out if there was some way I might be able to frame it to cover up our electrical panel, which lives in our kitchen (is that dangerous BTW?). But I don't know if that's too cheesy. With the reaction to the YHL poncho framing, I'm thinking maybe.
We have an eat in kitchen and most of the artwork is in the eat in area. I have a large canvas print of a rooster crowing with the sunrise and it says Life is Always in Progress. I also have a frame with our last name. Below that is a large frame with glass that I use as a dry erase board / calendar. And below that are three frames that I change out the kids artwork in b/c we dont have a magnetic surface in the house to put any kids artwork.
There are some 5x7s framed hanging between the kitchen cabinets and the back splash. I also have some artwork (chickens) sitting on the top of my china cabinet. I think that is it...
I have a painting of a farm scene behind our stove. It was cheap, pretty and makes a cool backsplash because it fits in the spot perfectly. I also have a clock above the sink. I just don't have a lot of space for stuff in my kitchen, nor the desire to keep it clean.
I also have a bird/tree decal on the wall the island backs against, but it's on the way out/towards the entry way, so I don't really consider it "kitchen." There's a print at Ballard I want to replace it with but I either need to save more funds or find a knockoff.
Mostly cabinets, but there is a tiny wall where we hung a couple of decorative plate type things... one a local landmark, and the other was something that my parents brought from Italy. They are not even full sized plates- the wall space is over the dishwasher, but it less than the width of the dishwasher because of the window on that wall.
On the largest wall I have this plate display. I also have my Grandma's recipes framed on a small wall. On another wall I have a chalkboard framed with the week's menu.
For some reason the kitchen is the place I have no problem finding things I love to hang on the wall. GL!
I have 9 framed botanical prints, a mirror and some Spode. I am in the middle of a mini-kitchen makeover and hope to replace the mirror with a chalkboard and maybe the Spode with different colored plates to match my "new" kitchen.
I have a mail collector hanging on the little wall in my kitchen; exciting, I know. On one of the other walls, I have a menu board that I made, and there's a clock on the other.
we have a soffit over our cabinets, so i have various metal, resin, ceramic, etc. pieces hanging. mostly b/c they all clean up relatively easy with a simple soak in sudsy water.
then over on the only open wall is our simple human garbage can and clock (have gone thru various ones here.....for some reason they just don't last long for us). currently the clock is a french-feel design that kinda looks like an old stop watch. we got it on sale at world market.
I don't have any walls in the kitchen - this near the eating area is as close as it gets. The three little ones are art/photography postcards (ever seen them? they make great souvenirs bc they're not kitschy and you actually want to see them when you get home lol) of the beach. The two big ones are cut from a calendar of vintage travel posters (India and the Mediterranean).
