I keep the bulk supply of flour in the top shelf of the pantry in a large rectangular tupperware-type container. I bring it out when I'm going a lot of baking. I also have a decorative canister on the counter that holds about 10 cups of flour - for more everyday/routine use.
Having both containers is nice so I don't have to haul out the big container every time I need to dust something w/flour or use a cup here and there. Sugar goes in another canister that's slightly smaller - I don't have a back up sugar in the pantry b/c the canister is large enough.
Am I the only one who stores it in the bag it comes in? I guess we're fortunate we don't have much in the way of bugs or mold.
I Do... but now I'm thinking I should re-evaluate my flour storage! I didn't realize it could mold? Ew. I don't really use it all too much. Although, I do have the bag inside a ziploc bag... does that count?

White flour in a foodsaver container or gallon size ziploc bag.
I store while wheat flour in the freezer in a gallon size ziploc bag.
Brown sugar I make as needed (1 tablespoon of molasses and one cup of white sugar = light brown sugar; two tablespoons of molasses and one cup of white sugar = dark brown sugar)

I keep flour and sugar in their original bags in the pantry, but I wrap them in plastic bags. Although now I'm thinking that I should get plastic containers.
Cornmeal, powdered sugar, and brown sugar are kept in Ziploc bags in the pantry.
My MIL bought me a bunch of these Martha Stewart canisters from Macy's. I love them. I have stored: flour, sugar, grits, decaf coffee, brown sugar, and wheat flour.
I was using canisters but they didn't work well. I bought the OXO containers recently but got them home and decided we didn't really need to spend that much money on them.
Now I have the bags they came in stored in gallon ziplocs to keep the cupboard clean and provide air tight storage

Yeah, some of these stories are making me re-think, too! At least I live in a very dry climate where mold isn't really an issue.
