I need a 112" curtain rod. But I need the curtains to be operable so I can't have too many supports along the length. Ideally, one on each end and one in the middle so they need to be substantial. The one that is there now is bending the wimpy brackets down with just 2 light panels on it. Any suggestions?
Style wise I would prefer nothing too ornate. Simple, clean lines. Dark finishes better, but not necessary. And it needs to be wall mount, not a ceiling.
If you are near an ikea, I actually found long, dark rods there (my living room window is something like 122" long). I have six canvas panels, three on each side, and we do close them - I have a support on either end and one in the middle. Bonus, they were way, way less than anywhere else I checked. There aren't many choices, anyway, when you need really long sizes.
Sorry that H is in the picture but this should give you an idea.
sjh722, I'm not near an IKEA, but I could manage to make a trip at some point. Too bad they won't fit in my luggage coming home from my next trip to Atlanta.
Come on IKEA, open a store somewhere between Atlanta and Houston!
Boo! It might be worth it to fed ex or UPS them to yourself. I think I spent around $250 and got hardware for the really long window in the living room, 3 other oversized window/doors, 2 standard windows, and 10 canvas curtain panels (which were sufficient to cover 2 of my windows, lol).
I figured we're probably not staying in this house long enough to enjoy $1k + of window hardware plus thousands on curtain panels, so ikea it was.
ikea shipping win! apparently for once shipping is not atrocious. Granted it's equal to my order total, but I can handle $22 for a long rod with brackets shipped.
We got our long ones (120") at JC Penny. Substantial and they don't cost a fortune either. Our 120" rods were about $60 each. We have this brand Royal Velvet in 3 rooms. And this brand is also good in terms of quality Linden Street
