Yum! I'm so excited, we got a reservation for Restaurant Week. I've never been before and I think you guys were talking about it. So what should I order? I eat anything. I'm figuring steak is the way to go, right?
Definitely get a steak. They have a few options to choose from but I always go with the Kona crusted sirloin. It's the most expensive of the options on the regular menu I believe. I was just there on Sunday night for my sister's birthday and I remember it being tastier in the past but I still enjoyed it.
The clam chowder and the field green salads were both great appetizers. For dessert, the creme brulee and flourless chocolate/coffee cake were awesome. I don't usually like flourless cakes because they're way too dense but Capital Grille's is really creamy and smooth while still really rich.
Enjoy!
Thanks, Guys!
Thanks for the advice, RNV! I knew there was a specific steak you recommended! I'll let you know what we think. I'm so excited, creme brule is my favorite dessert and my H loves clam chowder. We always order different things and then split each one, so it is like a tasting menu!

As long as you're not like me, you should be fine. Last time we went I made reservations but didn't really pay attention. So we went to where they were on Newbury and yeah, they'd moved. Luckily just a few blocks away. H gets the kona crusted sirloin and I usually get the filet mignon au pauvre.

Haha! That would so happen to me. We went to a birthday party last weekend and I didn't notice that the party was at our friends parents house, not their house. Not a big deal in theory, except the difference in the drive was about 45 mins! Doh. Luckily H read the invite better than I did!
Oooh, filet mignon au pauvre... I might be getting that...

Ha! That would totally happen to me. My foodie friend swears it's not as good since it's moved, but I've never heard anything bad about it. Have fun, noodleoo!
It was *delicious*!!! We got the Caesar salad and clam chowder to start, both very good. We got the kona crusted sirloin (that was *amazing*!) and the 8 oz filet mignon (very good as well, but I ate it with the sauce from H's sirloin). Desserts were so good too but we were so full, we barely touched them!
It was a great evening! We went to the Burlington one and the only complaint was that the restaurant was *really* loud. We kind of had to yell to each other. But the food was worth it.
How annoying is their stupid "valet" system? Huge pet peeve of mine.
Yes, the valet thing annoys the heck out of me. We just parked on the other side of LL Bean and walked. It was good to walk a little after that huge dinner!
I don't get valet service at a place that doesn't need it. Like L'Andana in Burlington. It is its own building, with its OWN dedicated parking lot. But they have valet and block off the 2 rows closest to the building for it. Dumb.

Someone recommended L'Andana to me recently. Do you like it?
We do like L'Andana. Same restaurant group as Mistral and Moo. The inside is *gorgeous*, super high ceilings, cozy furniture with a modern feel. We went once and ordered off the regular menu, and the food was amazing. I particularly loved the crap and sweet pea tortellini. I need to get that again! But we went back for restaurant week last year and weren't quite as impressed. Still a very good meal, but not quite as good as the first time. The big thing for us is that it is awesome to have a nice fine dining restaurant in the suburbs and not have to drive into Boston.
They do a 3 course menu Mon to Thur with the regular menu items for like $40 I think, we need to that some day. I feel like the food was a bit better when it wasn't restaurant week.

I giggled at the bolded
I'll have to look into this place. I stopped going to Restaurant Week for a couple of years because I was often disappointed in the sub-par menus they offered on those days. It sort of defeats the purpose of having people get to know your restaurant and returning for a full-price meal if they like it. I now examine the menus pretty carefully before I decide whether RW is really a deal at any particular place.
Oops! <blushing>
I meant crab, obviously!
Agreed on RW. We used to go a lot and cut back as well. It is a good deal, but still by no means cheap, so I hate to spend $100 on dinner and feel unsatisfied.
