I would tell the photographer how you felt in regards to the images you received on your previous photo shoot. Perhaps she had a off day. See what she says. She may offer to reduce the price of your next session or she may get defensive. I don't think that having 15 ish good photos are bad for a hour session. Winter sessions are difficult. I wasn't loving how ours came out either. It was cloudy and cold that day.
15 really good images sounds like a good session to me! But I hate most pictures of myself. If you can't find someone else you like with a good price then I'd try to talk to her as well about what you didn't like last time. Luckily a baby doesn't have anything you'd be annoyed about - like a bad outfit or a flabby stomach so I think you're more likely to like pictures of him/her than you would of yourself.

After not being satisfied with our pictures from several photographers after picking them based on their online portfolio, I put less stock in those. If you weren't happy the last time you used the photographer, I would move on. But, I do think that liking 15 pictures is pretty good. I'd be happy with 5 pictures I loved and 10 I really liked.
I'll also add- 5 - 15 good pictures doesn't sound bad. I've gotten about that many before, and I didn't WANT more. I only want to print/ frame 2 or 3 usually. Having too many to pick from only makes it that much harder!
I'll be honest. I looked at her website and I don't love her newborn photos at all. I think you should look for someone else who specializes in newborn photos. This is who we used for newborn photos a couple years ago: jmphotomn.com/. I love her style - not in your area but you should look around in your area. Do you have any friends in your area who recently had newborn photos done that you love? Start "liking" local newborn photographers facebook pages so you can see their recent work then decide on someone whose work you really love.
I would go with someone that specializes in newborn photos and the style you want. Some do the posed Anne Geddes kind of stuff, others do lifestyle photography using natural light, typically in your home. Some have a studio, some don't.
I agree that 5 images you LOVED plus 10 other great ones is pretty good. It's not like a wedding where there will literally be hundreds of photos you love. You can only take so many great shots of a couple people together.

I agree with all of this.
We spend a ton of money on our photographer, but I absolutely adore all of our pictures. You need to love who you are choosing.
125 images from an hour session is a LOT. I have a fantastic photographer if you want a rec. She's more expensive, though. But incredibly patient with little ones. We didn't use her for newborn, but used her for 1 year and 2 year family photos. I love her newborn photos too. Both times we got about 30 pics, which I thought was plenty.
