First off I think the quilt is adorable. Second, it doesn't matter where the quilt is in the nursery, it will serve as your statement piece, I feel. I see no reason why you can't pull from the quilt to design your crib bedding. I am all for mixing and matching patterns. I think it's meant to be fun and the quilt is sort of whimsical.
So, any of those colors, (black included) and the chevron pattern itself, can be used to do the crib bedding. I think yellow is better for the walls if you do paint, and let black be an accent in the bedding.
I will say I just bought a couple of fabric change pad covers in yellow (matched the dresser I painted) and used those, so I don't think they really have to match the rest, as that is pretty tough to do unless you're going custom.

We are also team green! We painted the room slate gray on top of white wainscotting w/white trim, ceiling, and crown molding (we own our house so we can do what we want to it), and I am doing the chevron style pattern on the bedding, throwing in some bright teals and oranges as accent colors.
