NOOOOO. Do not register, make no mention of gifts at all if you invite people for an open house. If someone asks where your'e registered, say "Oh, we already did the registry thing when we got married!" And leave it at that. Some people might bring you housewarming gifts no matter what, mostly things like wine I'd think, but no, you should not register for your new home even if someone has asked about it.
And say nothing re: gifts at all. If someone asks, say Oh, no! it's our party, we're hosting. If people bring you stuff, say thanks! and get on with the party.
Yes. Like I said, some people will choose to buy you something and that's their choice, but even those people shouldn't be made to feel like you expect anything. Having a registry sends the message that you're expecting gifts.

Do NOT register.
Do not mention gifts when you have a housewarming. If people ask what to bring just say "yourself!". If people are buying you a housewarming gift, they'll buy it despite you registering or saying no gifts.
My 5 year old daughter got an invite to a girl in her Kingergarten class. yep right there on the invite says So and so has registered at Toys r us.
No. just no. Registries are not for everything next we will be registering for what we want for christmas.. or at the grocery store. okay maybe not but still
