Downton Abbey question (no spoilers)

I just finished Season 1 and I'm on the hunt for Season 2.

Ok, so I know it was all originally aired in the UK. But the season 1 that's on Netflix is the US version, right?
What's the difference?

Amazon instant video has Season 2 on streaming, but it's labeled as the UK version and I have found Season 1 as both the UK and US versions. I can't find Season 2 as a US version, on streaming or DVD so I'm assuming is doesn't exist.

What would they change to air it in the US? Just some of the phrasing?

There's no difference :-) Just watch whichever one you can find! But make sure whatever version of Season/Series 2 you get includes the Christmas Special. It should (my DVD says it's the UK version and it includes the Christmas Special, and the Christmas Special was just part of season 2 in the US), but just make sure!

There's a difference because of the way the show was broadcast. In the UK it aired on a channel that has commercials. Here in the US it aired on PBS, so no commercials. Because it aired in a 1 hour time slot in both countries, the same number of minutes of show time took up more episodes in the UK and fewer in the US. But it's the same stuff either way :-)
