I successfully avoided all video and photo footage of that basketball player who broke his leg yesterday. I just don't need to see it, and reading the reactions of people was quite enough.
So here I am, minding my own business, lazily scrolling through my newsfeed and BAM! Some damn person had shared a split screen photo: one half was him on the ground taken at what I can only assume was the most graphic moment of the whole thing, and the other half was him up on crutches in the hospital. The caption was like, "We're pulling for you!" or some trite shit like that.
WTF?!? Why do people post this for anyone to see? It's like the people who post pics of tortured animals to get you to donate to SPCA. GAH! They should be put on mandatory FB hiatus!
Ughhhh DH kept replaying it going "are you SUUUUURE you don't want to see?". I hope the guy is OK, but I get sympathy pains when I see injuries and I can't look at it.

I was so afraid it would be on infinite loop on the morning news shows today and was relieved when the GMA guy specifically said "We're not going to show you the horrific injury" ... then they went on to show the footage, with a little blurry circle over the guy. It was bad enough even with the circle. I wish I hadn't read a description somewhere of what happened! I'm glad he's going to be okay, but my toes have been in a permanent curl all day!
