I honestly just liked company. I didn't have time to read anything since I spent my free time sleeping! I think a take-out GC is a nice idea and probably something I would have liked.
I really would have liked a bottle of red wine for when I got home!
Other than the food - maybe some kind of easy activity (like a book of crosswords if she likes that kind of thing). Obviously nothing that will require moving.
Other than starving, I was kinda bored in the evenings when baby and H were sleeping.

gossip magazines! I bought all the ones they had at the hospital drugstore. Although maybe they also bought them all already, lol
Good drinks. All I wanted was a lime rain Gatorade and no one would get one for me. I was so freaking thirsty and hungry the whole time I was there. So my vote is favorite drinks and snacks.
They kept me in for almost three days which was really weird since I had a vaginal birth with no complications and no strep B.
I wanted to get home so I could get some fucking sleep. I was so sick of people barging in my room. I remember begging the nurses to give me some peace so I could fucking sleep.
I would have tongue kissed anyone who brought me beer, GOOD pizza, and cheese dip. And an air horn to blow in the faces of the goddamned nurses waking me up every 45 seconds.
Just curious how long were some of you in the hospital? With this one I was less than 12 hrs. I had breakfast and was discharged.
72 hours (three days). I was induced on a Tuesday morning and we went home Friday morning. We would have left Thursday, but Emily had to stay an extra night and they allow the parents to stay as well, just as long as they have rooms available for people who come in and need them.
better maxi pads, some more comfortable clothes to wear PP (like nightgowns loose pants with flat waistbands like yoga pants and button front shirts.low scoop tanks), and I loved the shit out of having my slipper socks.
My dad brought me beer, but I was on pain meds and the baby had antibiotics so I never drank any.

Definitely food. Things that are easy to eat one handed or quickly. Sweets are good too. Everyone I know, myself included, has a major sweet tooth right after giving birth especially if nursing. I ate an obscene amount of single serve applesauce and fruit cups, Twizzlers, and mini multiple grain club crackers after DS was born. Oh almonds are good too.
I was in the hospital late Sunday night to Friday afternoon with DD, so almost 6 days. And, Monday midday to Thursday midday with DS.
I wanted the greasiest burger H could find and a large Pepsi. I informed him of this a month before I gave birth, so we made sure to have some Pepsi in the car just in case. Oh, and fuzzy slippers.
