Eight months ago or so I had a UTI and when the analysis came back, they found glucose of 100 in my urine. I was called in for a follow up urine analysis and they did a finger prick glucose test, all of which came back completely normal and fine. I chalked it up to just being some weird thing or maybe a lab error of sorts.
Fast forward to this past Friday. I got another UTI, so off to the doctor I went. They did another urine analysis and I got the results back last night. My glucose in my urine was 250!! I had ketones in my urine, as well as bilirubin and a crap ton of other stuff that shouldn't be in there. So now they want me to go in and do a 12 hour fasting blood test. I'm freaking the heck out. I know that if I do have Type II Diabetes that there is nothing I can do about it anyways, but man. I don't want to have it. I try to eat healthfully most of the time, but I love my sugar and my carbs. I know I might be freaking out about nothing or whatever; but if it ISN'T diabetes, than what the heck is it?

I used to have chronic UTIs. My glucose was through the roof a few times requiring follow up blood and urine tests...especially b/c Type I diabetes runs in my family. This went on for years (& now I haven't had a UTI since I had my DD, go figure) but nothing ever came of it. My doctors said your body can do weird things when you have an infection. So don't freak out! I hope it's nothing for you just like it was for me.
Years ago, I also had chronic UTI's and was prescribed low dose antibiotics to take for a month straight. The cured me and I haven't had any reoccurance since.
