Honestly, I can't speak for them specifically but I do know that in the business world, brick & mortar schools look better vs. online/for-profit schools. Like, a grad degree from SDSU would look better than one from Univ. of Phoenix (not to say one is better than the other, as my mom went to Univ. of Phoenix)
I'm not sure what the difference is of a grad certificate vs. graduate degree, however; I assume it would be similar to a Professional certificate vs. the actual degree....degree > certificate.
Ultimately "Traditional" university grad degree > Online/For Profit school degree > Certificate.
But that could be my perception based on my field.
to Kb's point, I think a tangible skill certificate (web design, et) and certificate could be a bonus to a degree. I guess I'm thinking more like a general certificate i.e. a certificate in Management. That's SO general it probably wouldn't score alot of points in my field, but something like a Project Management certification would be an added bonus.
A grad certificate certainly trumps a BA/BS. Doesnt really matter where, but make sure that wherever you go to regionally accredited. That is the best chance of getting the courses to transfer if you do decide to pursue a Masters later. Our regional accreditor out here is the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (or WASC for short). :-)
