We painted it that yellow back when that bedding was still in our room. The color was one we picked before we even moved in, and I think it's always been a little yellow-er and lemon-y than I was hoping for. Our office is the same color, but it bothers me less in there.
I need a bite-sized D&R project that I can start and finish, to get me back in the swing of things. Do you think it'd be worth the effort to repaint to something similar to SW Ivoire (2nd from top)?
I might also (randomly) paint the trim around the window white to try to start making white trim happen on the 2nd floor. The baseboards will get painted white when we replace the carpet upstairs. I'm thinking some small projects might help focus me on all that.
What do you think, worth it? Or no, focus on rooms that look worse/need help more?

I think so. It'll probably be worth it. I'd wait, though, on the window trim. It bothers me when there are two different trims in one room, kwim? Just do the window when you do the baseboards.
I'd do it too. Even though I hate to paint, it is a fast quick easy project and if it makes you happy and motivated go for it. Paint is pretty instant gratification. I'd wait on the trim though. By the time you get to the baseboards it'll probably need to be touched up anyways.
Boo, it's so much easier to do the trim at the same time that you do walls! You can be sloppy with the edges with one of the paints! lol
Actually I was kind of hoping to make the window look weird. I've been too complacent lately about the house and if I do something to make it look odd I am more inclined to stay on the project and see it through to completion. I am thinking in terms of replacing the flooring up there later this year.
Is that weird? I'm kind of goading myself to finish
We'll see. I need to have a sit-down with Calvin this weekend to decide what our priorities are this year, in conjunction with what we are doing with our income tax refund, my first quarter bonus, and projected bonuses later this year.

I say paint the trim now because hopefully it will "force" you to continue. And it will also make the wall color look better. IMO, it going to be hard to love a wall color with the wood trim and dark carpet.

Painting a guest room is always a good way to finish something without disrupting the rest of the house. What is your overall look for the room going to be?

You know, I don't even really know. That's bad, isn't it? It's hard to imagine it without the green carpet and oak trim!
It's a tiny room - way smaller than the other bedrooms - and because of that it has really stymied me!
When I think about what I want to change, some of it is functional. I really want to get a full length mirror in there, because as a guest I'd want that - but I am not sure where yet. Behind the door is one option:
but problems with that are that it's always in shadow (so usefulness is very limited) plus that's where towel hooks are for guests' bath towels. We don't have a separate guest bath, and there isn't space in the bathroom for extra towels.
The room has never really gotten a ton of attention. The only things I bought "for" that room are the bed itself, white sheets, and new pillows. Every single other thing in there is a hand-me-down from somewhere else. The bedding, the night table, the valence, even the ceiling fan/light used to be out in the hall! I plan to keep the bed (it has a slatted headboard now) and bedding, but pretty much everything else is negotiable.
Here are some old photos of the room (bed hasn't moved):
You can see I have very little space to work with!
Inevitably the carpet will be some flavor of beige berber, to keep with what we put in downstairs. I don't like the lemon sorbet feeling, but I feel very uninspired about what I *DO* want.
