I know there were quite a few of us building houses over the next few months. Anyone want to do an update on your progress?
We got started the 2nd week in March (were supposed to start the 1st week of March). They have the structure up and it is "wrapped", the windows and exterior trim are up, and they are hoping to get the roof on before it rain for the next 2.5 weeks. Our closing date was the last week of May but is now on track for the "beginning of June."
I would post a pic but that is above my capabilities. If someone wants to give me dummy instructions it will attempt.
Our initial completion estimate was 3/15. It got pushed back to 5/6, and this week it got pushed back again to 5/27. We think this is probably going to be the final date.
We did a walk through of the framing with the superintendent a few weeks ago. Since that time, the drywall has gone up, all the windows are in, and stucco work has started.
Some of the interior finishes like shelving, baseboards, and doors start getting installed next week.
I am a dirty lurker mostly , but we are building a house so I will play!
Excavation started on 12/27, and drywall was wrapped up last week. Now the fun stuff is happening! Tile was put in over the weekend in the master bath, the railings were installed in the last few days along with our cabinets, love them! All the baseboards, window sills and trim work is done.
I am not sure what comes next... We are closing on 4/29. I will post a pic in a bit
We closed on our 12.5 acres a couple weeks ago! We are pretty sure we know which builder we are going with, just need to make two more ref check calls. Plan to meet with the architect and builder in the next couple of weeks to start designing it!
Hello! We live in the midwest and had to wait until the ground had thawed to begin digging our basement. Right now the basement has been dug, the walls have been formed, and we will begin pouring the concrete Monday (provided it doesn't rain). I am surprised how fast everyones build seem to be. Our hopes are to be in by late fall provided everything goes smoothly.
