Do you think this rug will work in our foyer? I've been looking forever for a round rug to use in our entry way. The current rug is a 4ft woven jute style rug that my cat has taken a lot of enjoyment in chewing and pulling. It looks bad in person!
We have a large foyer as you can see from the pic, the new rug is a 5ft 3in indoor/outdoor rug. I feel like we need something fairly neutral since the foyer is open to the family room as well as the dining room and we already have patterned rugs in both of those. So do you think this is a good size and potential style. Or should we go for an indoor only rug? (as an aside, I've adjusted the items on the foyer table, didn't realize my husband had moved them so far to the side when he recently dusted, however I'm not complaining...even if he doesn't put things back, at least he dusts
i think it is both too small for the space (i would probably go with a rectangular shaped one to fill the space more) and i also think you can add a little interest with maybe a 2-tone neutral (one tone as the background and one tone as a subtle pattern that compliments the others in the adjoining spaces).
An entry way is a great place for an indoor/outdoor rug. No problem with that.
However, that rug is too plain and blends right into the floor. I always feel like entry ways should have something a bit more "fun" or "dramatic" in them.
Also, it's really neutral. I live in a different place than you for sure, but that light color would be dirty in about 4.5 seconds around here. With a circle there's also nowhere to stand to take your shoes off if you have more than person, which will leave dirt all over your floor. I'd like to see something either bigger and square or a long rectangle runner to help fill the space.
I am a fan of neutral rugs so I like the rug just fine. But a round rug doesn't look right there. Square or rectangle is what you need in that space.
I ditto the different shape of a rug there. You have a round mirror, a rounded entry table and the rug in the adjoining room has circle details. I think it's too much for another round item. Maybe a nice rectangular rug/runner there. And I like the indoor/outdoor idea - will probably hold up for awhile.
This one (website below) is very geometric and could be a cool runner, but is too expensive. Maybe you could find something like it with a color that ties to both rooms.
You need a much larger rectangular rug for that area. It still could be neutral - or perhaps a neutral with a pop of color binding. You could also choose one of the colors from the living room patterned rug. Green?
