Ahh I wish we were caught up to watch!! We are DVR'ing it in hopes to be caught up before the seasons over. I'm still reading these posts and would totally watch but DH won't.

I'm kind of surprised no one else has commented on this. Did you guys recognize Linda Cardellini as the neighbor that Don is having the affair with? My H came home today talking about how it's all over the internet - I had no idea it was her! I loved Freaks and Geeks and I knew she was a little older than the rest of that cast and haven't really seen her in much since - but I totally didn't recognize her, wow... Also, apparently a lot of people hated this episode. I seem to be in the minority.

I didn't hate it, but I didn't think it was very cohesive. I trust that the rest will be better, though. I did think by the end of the episode that it sort of all came together a bit.

Yeah, I thought that at first too but I thought it came together at the end. By the time the bad pitch happened (and then of course the snowstorm) it all came together for me. It was a little odd that Don was so quiet at first. I thought was especially really fun/interesting seeing Peggy be her own version of Don and I loved her late night/NYE phone conversation with Stan and how all the creatives at SCDP (or is it SCD now? or something totally different? No idea) are stoned all the time now. The symbolism of Don reading Dante at the beginning was interesting too..
Maybe this episode was like that ad campaign that they tried to pitch for the Hawaiian hotel - a little too dark/abstract/difficult to grasp?
I don't think it was to abstract necessarily, it just didn't feel cohesive. I don't know, I'm sure it will all come together more in coming episodes.
Yeah, I am hearing that a lot today! I think it will definitely come together more in pieces later, that seems to be the way they are going w/ this season.
