Do you put your baby to bed the same time every night regardless of how they are acting or do you go by sleepy cues?
I usually put laney to bed between 7-730 but lately (and especially tonight) she doesn't necessarily seem tired.... It's 7:17 and she's happily playing!
She is also transitioning to one nap- today it was 11:30-1:00
She's also been waking earlier- used to be 730/8 now 630. I wonder if I put her down a little later she will sleep in later.
I general, she goes to bed between 7:45 and 8:15. Tonight it was a bit later because she had a pass out nap around 4. Sometimes she'll come up and put her head down on me, and I know that she wants to go to bed earlier. It's always within a 45 minute window though.

Ya I would definitely put her to bed early if she was asking but I'm just wondering about letting her stay up...
We stick to a schedule as much as possible. Usually good daytime napping = good nighttime sleep and putting them down earlier will make them sleep better. I hope that makes sense overall.
Unless we are out late, we go by sleeping cues. By 7:00 most nights, he's rubbing his eyes and starting to get clingy. If he took a long afternoon nap, he's down closer to 8. He's pretty punctual when it comes to bedtime. Most nights.
We have a pretty wide window. We take him upstairs between 8:15 and 9, and he's in bed a half hour or so after that. I aim for 8:30 but I let him stay up a little longer if he doesn't seem tired at all.
Nah it totally depends on her naps. I'd say her bedtime is usually 830 bit it can be earlier (if no second nap) or it can be later (if second nap too late). On the weekends I often allow her to nap longer/later and go to bed later, as I can then lie in when she sleeps late. So this weekend she's been going to bed at 9 ish and waking at 8 ish. Tonight however she went to bed at 8 so will probably be up by seven but I get up before that anyway for work so only hubby will suffer....

We go by when her last nap ends. She rarely seems tired and she always gets super happy and excited after her bath during our bedtime routine, but she always goes right to bed and STTN so she must be tired.
It'll vary slightly based on his nap schedule, but we still stick to a pretty decent schedule. He gets his last bottle around 8:15. If he's wide awake, we'll let him play for 15-20 minutes. If he's tired, he'll go straight up for a story and bedtime. Some days he'll be up from his nap by 3. Other days, he'll nap until 6:30. It really just depends on what's going on. Either way, he gets his bottle at 8:15 and goes to bed shortly after.
I try really hard to put her to bed between 7:30-8:15. If she isn't acting tired by 8:15 and we are home I put her to bed, she will usually go to sleep pretty fast.

We don't do a certain time, go by cues. Some days it's 8 and other days its 10. I've tried putting her to bed before she's tired and she just stands up and screams. I have to wait for fingers in her mouth and pulling the ear, those are her cues. When I put her to bed at that point I just have to stick her in the crib and she rolls over and goes to sleep, no fuss no muss.
We have a pretty set time. If she super tired and cranky we start the bath at 8:20, if she's fine we start it at 8:30. She always falls asleep pretty fast when I put her down.
Our evening is like a dance with the devil. It all depends on how he's napped that day, and with the endless pool of drool covering the house, I think he might actually be teething this time, which throws another wrench into the whole thing. Daylight saving really messed up our perfect little schedule, too. To answer your question, we go by cues at this point. Some nights, that puts him in bed at 6. Some nights, that puts him in bed at 8. Ideally, we want dinner at 6:30, bath at 7, in bed by 7:30. Micah's still learning how to read a clock though.
Yes we stick to his schedule. It might waiver 10 to 20 minutes but usually no later. Even if he is acting awake he normally falls asleep quickly once he's in the crib.
Also we've learned that generally keeping them up later does not equal sleeping later. It's usually a backfire and the opposite happens. They sleep like crap and get up earlier!

I go by the schedule, usually. He goes down between 8-8:20. If he napped like crap earlier, or missed his second nap, sometimes its around 7:45. But generally I go by the schedule, it makes him sleep better. Like last night, he took a bath and was 'ready' for bed by 8. He had just finished his bottle and was good to go. But he was really happy and laughing and playing with DH. He could have easily stayed up another half hour, but I put him to bed. He actually went right to sleep, and slept until 8:30!!! He slept SO long last night. I seriously feel like when I do that, he sleeps longer.. idk.. maybe i'm nuts. haha

I usually go by sleep cues. Some days if he misses his afternoon nap at dc it's a struggle to keep him awake long enough to have dinner and he's normally crashed by 6:30pm. Some days he falls asleep while nursing when I get home from work, if he does I'll let him sleep on me for about 45 mintues, then we have dinner and I'll let him stay up until he seems tired, usually 7:30. If I know I have to get him up for dc the next morning I usually make sure he's in bed before 8.
I follow the schedule pretty rigidly. I don't let him nap past 4ish so he's ready to sleep at 7:30. I will put him down a bit earlier if he's asking to go to bed, though

I go based off sleepy cues. So she's usually in bed between 9:30-10:30 depending on how naps went. Ideal is no later than 9:30 but sometimes DH lets her nap super late while I'm at work and then she's wired.

Christian normal gets a bath around 6:30 each night and is in bed around 7:30. We have an early morning so he is usually ready for bed. He's always gone to bed early.

We have to wake her up at 6am M-F to get her ready for daycare, so regardless of wether she is tired or not, she is usually in bed by 6:45pm and sleeping by 7pm. Some days its earlier than that.
Jake can go from happily playing to total sleepy grump in a second. He is in his crib between 7-7:30 99 percent of the time. If he had a bad day, I start the bedtime routine early, or he will get a longer bath because he loves the tub. If he had a great day and napped really well, it is started a bit later. I wake him up at 6 am on the weekdays though, so I want to make sure he gets a good night of sleep.
