Why are blue eyes so desirable? My whole family has blue eyes, so to me they are a bit boring. I think brown eyes are so pretty and I like green and hazel as well. I like blue eyes with really dark hair, but with fair hair they are just "meh" to me.
It drives me crazy that EVERY SINGLE PERSON that talks to me when I'm with A goes on and on about her blue eyes. It's just weird to me.
I just like the way blue eyes look. I was hoping Zoe would have green eyes, though. I have hazel eyes and they're deep set, so everyone assumes they're brown. I guess I like blue eyes because people at least can tell what color they are.

Hah I always thought Jim Parsons (Sheldon from Big Bang Theory) had brown eyes for YEARS! Then I saw a close-up photo of him and they are very blue. So strange.
I can relate as well. I have really light gray eyes. My older girls have green hazel with really dark hair, which I personally really like. My other girls have darker hair with light blue eyes, and Evelyn has light blue/gray eyes and red hair. My dad has blue eyes, my mom has brown. I'm the only blue eyed child and everyone always made a big deal of my eye color growing up. I think I have ok eyes, but wish I had brown. The shade of my eyes are a bit unusually light with a really dark blue ring, I get asked a lot if my eye color is real. I was hoping Evelyn had dark blue/green like her dad, but she got mine.
as I said before I grew up with everyone around having blue eyes and always wanted chocolate brown eyes.
The reason I wanted Matilda to keep her blue eyes is so that she'd have "my eyes". I know that's silly but she's probably not going to look much like me, sometimes I think she does then sometimes I think she looks like hubby much more. I assume she'll be about 6 inches taller than me by the time she's 12 too haha
I wouldn't stop loving her though if her eyes changed to hazel like hubbys.
I love hazel/green because I think it's so neat how they change color depending on the light and clothes.
However, I never understood wanting your kid to have a specific eye color(I'm not referring to you!), they're all pretty!
My SIL was trying to find some blue eyes in her husband's family since he has brown eyes and hoping he was blue recessive so they would have a chance for a blue eyed baby. I was like Huh?!?
I think people comment on blue eyes because of the way some shades just pop out at you. I'm maybe biased because I love blue eyes and was hoping the boys would have them. Only so they had something like me. They look like hubby to a T, so I wanted something of me.
I have blue eyes and dark brown hair. All my boys are blue eyes and blond hair. I really wanted one of them to have brown hair!
Blue eyes being marks of beauty has been around for a long time. They originated in people of English and northern European descent and since it's a recessive gene, it showed up more in people who didn't marry people from other areas.
Honestly, I think now it's so ingrained that blue eyes and blond hair are the ideal people don't even question it (although research shows that ideal is changing). I got so tired of people looking at DD, and then looking at me and DH and asking, "where did she get her beautiful blue eyes and blond hair?" Like we were some trolls who kidnapped her or something.
I just want her to have blue eyes like me, I think big brown eyes are gorgeous but then she wouldn't look so much like me. I guess it's a selfish reason!
Oh and I hate having light eyes because I can't see anything without sunglasses. When it's sunny, I have to squint so much to see that my eyes are almost closed.
I like green eyes and hazel eyes (like Mila Kunis). I have blue eyes, they're a greyish blue with golden around the pupil. Since I have dark brown hair, people always assume I have dark eyes so when they see I don't, they always comment on it. My dad had gorgeous green eyes and I always hoped mine would change into the same color. I love Lincoln's blue eyes; they're a deep sapphire and they're so pretty. H's blue eyes are like the color of pool water and I love them, too.
I think blue eyes on a dark featured person are beautiful. I taught a little Filipino boy who had the most brilliant crystal blue eyes ever. He is seriously in my top five cutest kid of all time!
I personally think green eyes are my favorite. I don't really care what color eyes my kid has. I just think it's neat that she has blue because we don't have a lot of blue eyes in our family.

'mn in the club that wanted my kid to have blue eyes so he would have something of mine. I guess I'm happy enough that he got my nose and ears instead of Dumbo's MH's. I also think that a lot of beauty in someone's eyes doesn't come from the color by the way they carry themselves or smile.
I love blue eyes. DH and I have the exact same color blue eyes, so Kai was pretty much destined to get them. I can't really say why I love them, but I do.
I have blah brown eyes and blah brown hair. I was hoping one of them got DH's red hair and green eyes. They both have the most amazing blue eyes. DS had red hair but he's now a blonde hair little boy and DD's hair is in crisis. It has no clue what color it wants to be.
I have green eyes but they aren't bright or anything, they don't stand out plus I wear glasses. I was hoping Lillian would have light eyes with her dark hair because I think it looks so pretty. I was 99% thinking she would have brown eyes since they are dominant which DH has.
For me, it's that I have blue eyes and I want her to look like me. If she has H's green eyes, that will be lovely, too. I just don't want her to look like my mom, so I would prefer her not to have brown eyes like my mom. Of course I will still love her and find her beautiful if they do go brown. I just enjoy the "She's so beautiful! She looks just like you!" comments.

DH and I both have brown so we were really hoping Christian would have green. He did for 6 months and they turned brown. I personally love pretty green eyes. My Nana and sister have blue and I feel like I got stuck with boring brown.
I love deep blue eyes with dark brown hair. DH has this comboand we were hoping K would get it too. Its even prettier on a girl with dark hair. My eyes are almost black and kellens are pretty dark too. I'm not huge on hazel.
