I am in the process of a major closet clean out with the pending SAHM and the pending move. I was thinking of selling a lot of items on the sell/swap board and donating at least half of the funds to my friend that had brain surgery.
Anyway, my question is this - I've only ever used Paypal to send money out to people - not to get it in. How do you do that? Do you email someone a link to your paypal or something? I see the request money thing on there, but I'm just not figuring it out. Is there a paypal help thing that breaks this down for me that I'm missing?
Also - how do you guys figure out shipping? I think someone said before they do like $5 for the first item and then add on from there, but what about shoes?
Trying to figure this all out so when I post it runs smoothly.
Yes, you give people your email and they send the amount. When you price things, take into consideration that a portion will be taken out for the paypal fees. Do NOT sell things and have people send the money to you as a gift, as it removes any protection that you (and they) have should a problem arise.
I do a lot of this stuff selling cloth diapers, etc.
Shipping will vary depending on the weight and size of the box, but generally, $5 is a good number.
Some people will include shipping in their asking price, for others, its additional. Just depends on what you prefer.
As for Paypal, there are different ways to do it. You can send an invoice by requesting money, like you mentioned, or the buyer can just send you money. The best way to do that is to have them send it to you as a gift, otherwise Paypal takes out fees. All they would need is you e-mail address to do this.

Yeah, no. This is a good way to get royally screwed, especially if some of the items are $$$.
