She already gained back some of the sick weight she lost, so hopefully she's on the mend. I asked about her leg strength and if her weak standing abilities (and pulling up abilities) are something we should be concerned about. She had us practice standing with her holding on to a chair and then she wanted me to hold just her hands. That freaked me out because I never felt Sophia was strong enough to do that, but I tried it, and she did it! I know this seems totally lame, but I had never even tried to just hold on to her hands, she just seemed so weak and hated standing so much! I was happy and surprised she could do it! The doctor says we just need to keep practicing with her and to bring it up at every wellness check. She thinks she'll be fine and that she really just needs to practice more. I hope so!
She asked about WCM and I told her we gave her some the day before and she did fine with it. She warned us it could cause constipation at first, so we'll keep prunes, peaches, and pears on hand. She said similar things to what other pedi's have said on the board. She doesn't need to be drinking a ton of milk, just a few ounces in a sippy during meals. I told her she was still drinking from bottles and she suggested starting the process of weaning from that. I mentioned she also still ate a good bit of puree and she said that was fine to do a combination of table food and puree, that she will let us know when she is full and will keep eating if she isn't.
Sophia got two shots and her iron levels tested, all were fine and she is currently sleeping away in her crib. All in all I'm happy with the appointment!
