Like in a studio?
We have our pics on Friday and of course there is a 90% chance of rain so the photos will definitely be indoors. I'm totally fine with this for all of the Violet photos because I think we will get better shots in the studio anyway. Buttt we were planning on doing a family pic and now I feel like our outfits will look weird inside. Should I just skip it?
I'm not a huge fan of the in-studio posed family shots. But I absolutely think you should try to get a few indoor natural looking ones. Then you can focus the rest of the session on Violet. I'd also suggest having her do an outfit change into a tutu or diaper cover and having a cake smash for the second half of the session if you end up indoors. (This is what our plan is.) I wasn't a huge cake smash fan originally, but I think my mind has changed.
Also, if it doesn't rain and you end up outside, then you get an entire cake to eat all by yourself.
2) I especially love that dress. Where is it from? Anthro?
3) Can you reschedule? I don't want you to settle and end up being disappointed. If rescheduling isn't an option, I'd go ahead and do them indoors rather than skipping them altogether. Any pics are better than none.
It is from Anthro but it's a few years old. Thanks!
I unfortunately can't reschedule. This photographer is booked out the ass and my H already took off of work for this. I guess the worst thing that can happen is they come out bad and I just don't buy them.

I was JUST thinking of the cake! I didn't plan on it but now I kind of want to do it. Hmmmm..........
I'm not a fan of super posed shots against a plain backdrop, but I say give your photog a chance to show you what they can do. They might come up with some super creative shots that you love, and if you don't then you don't have to buy them.

We did indoor family/first birthday pics 2 weeks ago. I wanted the pics done on X's birthday and with all the snow outside we had no choice to do them indoors. So no, I don't think they're weird.
