I suck
For N's birthday a lot of people wanted to buy him some new summer clothing so I told them 18 months, thinking they were buying onesie type outfits (his 12M onesies are starting to pull at the neck a little). Well we got like 10 or so 18 month shirt/short combo outfits and they all look huge.
Most people gave us receipts so I might be able to go and exchange, but what the F was I thinking? Adam always wore a size behind in the summer, and he was 2lbs bigger than N.
N is 20lbs, 30". Would you have told them 12M or 18M? I feel like an idiot..... (huh)
I would have told them 12 months but Lincoln is still is still in 9 months with room. 18 months, for us at least, wouldn't be able to be worn until the fall or later. He even has some 3-6 stuff that still fits.
I would have said 18. Have you tried them on? I always think things look way too big for J until I actually put them on her. lol
We have not tried them yet, but we should. I bet the shirts will be "ok" but the shorts will look like pants, lol. I guess I forgot there is no 12-18 size? I agree though, there are times where I am like, "NO way this will fit", and then it does.
Someone asked me and I said 12-18 months. I find 9-12 still fits her but I assume people will be buying summer things and they'll be too small by then? I have no idea. I want to say "DON'T BUY HER ANYTHING" but I think that would be kind of jerky. People love buying baby clothes.
I've been telling people both but I've bought some 18 month summer stuff already. She's been in 12 month size since October! So for Christmas I told people 18 month thinking she'd be in it by then and most are way too long but the shirts are ok. Her belly tends to stick out of the 12 month shirts

Nolan has recently acquired quite the belly too, it's kinda funny.

I said 18, because he has plenty of 12 and is stretching them out. He's always been behind a size in pants (he's all torso), so we got some 18m outfits, and the pants are ridiculous on him. The shirts fit great though. My parents scoffed at the outfits my IL's got him, seeing how huge they were, but surprisingly, the one-piece jammies are only a little bit big on him. After having a kid, I now realize that the pre-packaged outfits aren't very practical. You're not dumb.

Shoot, people asked me and I said 24m. Now that stuff looks big! lol
Same thing here. I told people 18-24 months. The 24m is def. too big. I do prefer the 24m for sleepwear. It's so hard to judge. A lot of things I just eye and can tell if we need 18m or 24m. Maybe the stuff will fit him at the end of the summer. It stays warm here for awhile.
If it makes you feel any better, 18 months to me fits 12-18 months since I assume it is Carter's.
Katelyn is wearing 18 months (or 12-18 months) purely for length. The poor girl was 32.25" and 18 lbs 1 oz at her one year appt on 3/20. She was at the pedi Monday and is back down to 17 lbs 6 oz. Everything hangs on her but I rather it fit lengthwise.
She wore a Carter's 18 month dress with a 3 months diaper cover yesterday.
Remember there are still a good 5 months left of warm short weather. You don't want him to outgrow his clothes in July or August to only have to buy new. Where them big. We also used a binder clip for Kalvin's shorts.

Ugh I screwed up sizing too. I told people to get her 12m summer clothes. Well our spring finally decided to kick in this week and it's been 75-80 outside but all her warmer weather clothes are still too big on her. Why can't babies just be predictable!?
I've been saying 12-18 month stuff, because Owen tends to run pretty true-to-size (I always feel like I'm talking about shoes) or a bit small. I can always try to shrink it up a bit? I have no idea.
I said 18 mo. If it is Carters they tend to shrink a bit when washed also. Summer for us will probably last until October, so Anna will probably need two wardrobes this year.
I've been saying 12 mo for the summer clothes. Nobody ever listens to me though I told them 9 month at Christmas and they all got me a bunch of 12 and 18 month winter stuff that she will never wear as she's still in 9 month. My family always says, but the rule of thumb is they wear twice the size of how old they are. I'm like WTF I'm telling you what size she wears people! Some people even got me 18-24 mo stuff.
We're in the same boat an I said 18 months. I figure that these will be her clothes until fall and she will grow. Now, she's outgrowing 12 month shirts and onesies but 12 month pants are still big on her. I just take the pants in a bit.

I did the same thing. But is rather she wear them a little big than get no use out of them bc they are too small. She has almost the exact same stats as him.

This. Friends just brought our Old Navy order over when they visited last week, and I ordered 3T t-shirts for BB. They are big, but he can wear them.
