So I got DD a play tunnel yesterday on an impromptu trip to Toys R Us.
After dinner, DH and I set it up and she seemed soooo excited when she saw it! She crawled over to it and looked thru and laughed, then put a paw in and was instantly hesitant.
I decided to "help" her by putting her in it. OMG.
She sobbed HUGE crocodile tears until we took her out and then clung to me for dear life until finally DH had to remove it from the room entirely.
TUNNEL FAILURE.
Anyone's kids actually like the play tunnel at this age??
You know it's weird. Lillian loves crawling under things, like at DC there is a little padded house that she crawls through and she loves it. So we bought her tent that had a tunnel connected to it from zulily, and she wanted nothing to do with it! She wouldn't even crawl through the tunnel. We left it up for a few days, nothing, pretended it wasn't there. She didn't cry but I thought it was odd.
Cam LOVES his. It took him like an hour of staring at it right when we got it for him to get up the courage to go through. Then I'd have to peek at him at the other end, and he'd go in. Now he goes in all the time by himself. Ours has netting in the middle so you can see through, I think that helped him not be so scared at first because he could still see us.
we got one for K for Xmas but he hasn't stepped foot in his yet. We will try it again soon. He also doesn't like his ball pit. Go figure. THe kid would rahter play with a measuring cup.
We got one from Ikea a few months ago and initially Owen wanted nothing to do with it. I opened it up the other day and he crawled through a few times. I had to wedged myself in one end to get him through initially, but then he thought it was sorta fun.
Aww, how sad! I'd leave it set up if I were you, and let her approach at her own pace. Do you ever have older kids over? Our baby yoga place has one, and I think Kai got braver with it watching other kids go through it. But he's still not wildly enthusiastic about it.
Ava has one from IKEA and loves it. I was surprised though because I have one at the library I use during baby storytimes and the little ones are almost always scared of it at first.

I meant to get one for his birthday and forgot. I can see it scaring DS now though. We also have an evil vacuum at our house. What a contrast to newborn days when it would soothe my cranky pants!
