I can not get a tattoo in my county. This is such BS! I've been emailing my tattoo artist-to-be, and she informed me! You can not tattoo a pregnant or breast feeding woman in Suffolk County NY. This is such bull shit! I will be going to a facility that is tops in hygiene and I am being punished for what? Misinformation or the stupidity of others? BOO!!! They have one of my two tattoos on special this month - my Lindsay butterfly. Crap.
Uhh, that's kinda silly IF they are sanitary, you know? Like, if they do everything properly - new needle and all that... I mean, what's the risk?? I've been waiting to touch up my tattoo that was stretched from pregnancy but mostly because I'm lazy and I use BFing as an excuse, lol.
I lie because of tattoo parlors all the time. It would be nice to lie to them for once.
You're not allowed to donate blood for a year after getting a tattoo, which I think is stupid. The way I see it, they run a million tests on the blood anyway. I only use top rated parlors. I'd rather donate blood that could save somebody's life than skip it because I recently had work done. BUT, that being said, I'm donating blood today because I'm going to get a tattoo in the next few days. I also always donate blood before I go on trips to "questionable countries." That way, if there is an issue with the ink or the trip, I donated as recently as I could.
The main reason it seems dumb to me is that there's no way whatsoever to tell if you're breastfeeding (unless you're leaking milk all over the place, I guess). They should just have you sign a waiver stating that if you're breast-feeding you might have certain risks. Does the artist you want to use already know you're breast-feeding? Or is it just that you don't want to lie to her?
