My students are KILLING ME! They are doing a state test review today and all I hear is "I can't do this!" "How do I use this calculator?" "This is too hard"
OMFG! State test standards are a joke. These kids can't do anything if you don't hand it to them and say "please hit these buttons on your calculator" I should be more upset about this since it directly affects whether I get to keep my job, but I'm so ragey at them that I can't be stressed about it. I also love how my first period got to take a it et of my class. This survey will affect my evaluations and basically my ability to keep my job. Because we should leave that up to 11 year olds. I'll probably DD this later, but I needed to vent before I cussed out a kid

Jesus fucking Christ. That sucks. I could never be a teacher because I would freak the fuck out, lose my job, become penniless and turn into the town's crazy cat lady.
It's really sad that this is what teaching has come to. I have my Associates in elementary education, but many of the reasons in your post and the article, swayed my decision to pursue Accounting instead. Hopefully your day gets better.
I can't believe surveys from emotional 11 year olds could sway your job security. That's so scary!
I have gotten a lot of questions over the years of "why aren't you a teacher" "why don't you go into teaching." Well, this is why. Sorry you're having a rough day. Those policies are ridiculous.
