so i purchased the digital copy of one of the pics from the newborn photo session we did. i tried designing an announcement on two different sites, and both are saying the resolution is too low to be printed. is there anything i can do to adjust this, or am i screwed? i'm annoyed and wonder what is going to happen if i tried to print a plain copy of this digital print too.
Yes, I agree - you were given a low resolution file, and if you paid for the file, you should have gotten one with a high resolution. What is the file size of your image?
i emailed him. i'm kind of pissed off that they would send such a low res copy. if i can't use it to print a small birth announcement, how am i going to be able to use it to print a 5x7?

i don't know if this is the right answer, lol, but it says 2129K?

That's a decent sized image. If you had said 212k, that's definitely low resolution. But 2.1MB is pretty good size. and will get you good quality prints up to 8x10. It should certainly be good enough for an anouncement, which I assume is 4x6?
Which announcement site are you using? Often times they will have a Chat feature this you can ask them to review your file. I have used Minted and Tinyprints, and their customer service is really good. They might be able to help you with your specific file.
he emailed back that sometimes there are issues with people getting images through that email address, he is going to send it via another one. hopefully that takes care of it!
eta - he said he sent high res, so hopefully i'll be able to get it working.
