Trying to keep this short. My sewing machine is under warranty, and I have to take it to the dealership where I purchased it for repairs. The dealership is an hour away.
I received a VM Wed. informing me it was ready to pick up. I called yesterday to verify their hours, and I said my husband would be arriving at 7:30 to pick it up. The employee told me that they'd be open til 8:00 and it wouldn't be a problem. He arrived at 7:10 and the shop was closed for the evening.
I drove down today and picked it up. I plugged it in when I came home, and discovered that it hadn't been repaired.
I'm pissed about two wasted trips this week and having to make another tomorrow to drop it off again. The repairs are covered under the warranty, but would it be unreasonable of me to ask for some kind of gift card or discount on other stuff for the trouble?
I'd bring up your two wasted trips and gas costs/ti e wasted and see what they say. I'd also deal with a manager. If they only offered an apology I'd be more forward about wanting something more.
I would flip out. I loathe going out of my way. And TWICE? Heck no. Definitely speak to the higher ups.
Actually, FOUR times, right? Husband went, they were closed. OP went wnd picked it up, unfixed. OP returned to drop it back off. OP or whoever picks it back up after it's hopefully repaired.
I'd be furious, but I don't know that a gift card would cut it for me.
