Last week we painted a double Adirondack chair this muted orange (think the color of a clay pot). And I think the color works really well with our house. I mentioned to DH painting our front door this color. The front of the house faces north-East so it does not get much sun and is rather dark. Here is a pic of the current front door.
Here is the entire house.
Here is the bench so you can picture what color I am thinking.
What do you think? Will the orange work or look way out of place?
The chair is by the back door, right? The only reservation I have about the orange color is the brick trim on your front steps. How does the orange look with that?
The chair is by the back door so no one would see both at the same time.
I will take a pic with the paint chip next to the brick and see what you all think.
If you all dont like the orange what color would you suggest? Not purple or red
This is next to the top step with is the reddest in color. Most of the brick has paint over spray on it from painting the house green so it is more muted.
I'm going to go against the grain and say I wouldn't do an orange door with your house color. I like the color your door is now -- still a contrast but not overwhelming.
