Unfortunatly, I am in the office and can't share a picture but I will do my best to explain. Our family room is L shaped. Half is well lit with natural light thanks to a double set of sliding glass doors which face NW and we get nice afternoon light. the little leg is what we use for my daughters playroom for now. We moved in just last year and it was a mix of white paint and hideous greenish brown paneling. So I finally put primer on it to start the process of making said space more tolerable. Anyway. I was going to paint the whole space SW Slate Tile but now that everything is white, I wonder if that color is too dark for the playroom since it receives less natural light and it will appear too cave like.
So the question is, do I go with another shade of blue and make it tonal? Or do i use another color all together. The kitchen which is next too the family room (but not an open floor plan) is Hearts of Palm (light green) and I had planned on using the slate blue, with some green accents in the family room. Do I paint the playroom a deeper shade of green?
If this is utterly unhelpful I could update later with pictures. I appreciate any opinions on how you would handle the space!
i think it can still work fine. i was checking out blogs that i hadn't been following for a while this weekend and re-found Nuestra Vida Dulce and she had a playroom post that used fairly dark colors.
