Just got done with the Brazilian. I started laughing during it because I had the idea yesterday and 24 hours later I was on the table having hair ripped out. She was so fast. It may have been 4 min from start to finish. She said she does around 60-70 a day.
I think it was Lucy who said the top was the worst and for me it the the top middle. Sweet Jesus, that one hurt. She told me to get Clearsil pads with salyic acid to prevent ingrown hairs. I scheduled another one for 5 weeks per her suggestion. If you're in DC, I highly recommend Tammy at Polished in Georgetown. Not sure if that's considered soliciting or not, so I'll take it down if I need to. Thanks for the tips about the ibuprofen before!
I'm almost tempted to start doing them again and try the methods that have been recommended on here to prevent ingrowns. The only thing I did was exfoliate every day with a scrub, and that did nothing.
Am I the only one who appreciates the salon name being "Polished"? Walk in feeling stubbly and down in the dumps, walk out smooth and shiny like a polished bowling ball...
I didn't know you were in DC, michelle, or I would have recc'd someone. I actually had one done today as well, by someone new (*gasp*) down in woodbridge (was staying with the boy) because the total for brows, underarms, and brazilian was only $90 - way cheaper than I've seen elsewhere in the DC metro area.
She definitely took her time, but it was very thorough and relatively painless. I'd go to her again.
Arbor - Tammy was $35. She does so many that she can charge so little. I can't say enough about her! Amazing! Woodbridge is pretty far for me, but I always love recs.

Wow, $35 for a brazilian is so awesome! I live in Cincinnati, and a good place costs me $80. I tried one at another salon that only charged $50 and it hurt like a MFer. Luckily I had had it done before and this lady was BSC. No way no how I'm going back to her. It made the $80 from the other salon SO worth it.
WOW 4 minutes, really? It takes my girl at least 5 minutes just to do the scissor trim after the waxing and before I flip over-ha HA PS- I do NO, none, nothing for maintenance between waxing and I get maybe 2 in-grown hairs. I have thick, course hair to boot. So do not worry yourself terribly.
