For the last year, I've been nudging DH to start eating healthier and sign up for some races. Of course, he's been all "I'm FIIIINE! Beer is healthy! I still pass my fitness test for work!" So, I go on my merry way and just cook healthy dinners and work out on my own. Whatever. I thought our family photos in November would've been the kicker when he said something about his stomach looking chubby and he wasn't happy about most of the photos. He started running in the mornings once or twice a week.
So, on Sunday, we went to Express and he bought shirts in the same size he always gets. After we got home, I told him to try them on before taking off the tags, and it was like a light bulb went off. They were tight around his stomach and he freaked. He spent the rest of the night downloading apps, he bought calipers for body weight measurements ^o), and almost didn't eat dinner Monday night because he was over his calorie intake for the day. Ugh.
I'm happy that he's finally figured it out, but I'm not looking forward to the influx of new gadgets and obsessive googling that will ensue. He's not really overweight but he used to be a big fitness buff, so I knew if he gained another 15 lbs, he'd get really depressed really quickly. Poor guy. He's already texted me a few times about his calories today, though. Its not even lunch time yet.
Mine does the same thing. Rather than just getting fit, and making health a lifestyle, he is like a roller coaster. Doesn't seem quite fair though, I do live healthy, and yet I have to take the ride with him.

Yup. And of course my H will probably drop 10 lbs out of nowhere and be in half marathon shape by the end of May. Jerk.

Isn't that the truth! They drop it as fast as they gain it, or so it seems.
