I was so proud of Edmund after his little tykes class today. He shared his toys and only had minimal frustrations with the other 9 kids during the first 30 minutes. Then he sat at the table and played with his puzzle for the next 15 minutes. He played well in both of the sensory bins and didn't scream when they took a toy from him because it belonged in one of the sensory bins and not the other. Then he went back to the table and ate his whole snack without screaming again and enjoyed sitting next to the other kids. He also sat and behaved himself during circle time at the end of the class.
The first 3 classes were 75 minutes of struggle because he wasn't used to the structure and wasn't used to being around that many other kids at once. It was so nice watching him interact and play so nicely with the other kids and not get all huffy during one or more of lessons. He also then sat through his speech therapy appointment for 40 minutes after the class and didn't throw a fit until it was time to leave and she took away the toys that he was playing with.
