Anything exciting in books or plans for the weekend?
QOTW: Coffee, tea, or hot cocoa when you curl up with a good book?
I'm reading Chocolate Wars by Deborah Cadbury, about the success and rivalries of the Cadbury Chocolate Company. So far it's very interesting, I hope it keeps up the tone through the rest of the book.
Tomorrow DH and I are headed to the city for a shopping adventure -- it's Record Store Day and he is pretty excited to check out the stores. I'm planning on hitting some bookstores and a chocolatier (I have been craving dark chocolate covered marshmallows for over a week now.)
I'm reading The Submission by Amy Waldman. It's really interesting, and I'm hopeful I'll find a little time to read this weekend. DD has a ballet recital tonight, then we're all going to see a ballet tomorrow, so it will be a busy weekend.
QOTW: I'm a huge fan of coffee, but usually by the time I sit down with a book, it's a glass of wine.
I'm reading Where Angels Fear to Tread by E.M. Forster. I'm listening to (I suppose... I haven't really made much progress on it) To Tame a Highland Warrior by Karen Marie Moning. I wasn't nuts about the first Highlander novel and so far this one hasn't grabbed me. I LOVED her Fever series, so I keep wanting to like these.
QOTW: Usually herbal tea or a beer or a glass of wine. Coffee if I'm home having a lazy morning.

I am about halfway through Richard Wright's Native Son. It is so good. It really interesting, disturbing at points, and I find myself slipping into it for longer than I really have time for.
QOTW: I literally just made myself a cup of coffee and put some hot cocoa mix in it, so both! Wine is always good, too, but it isn't even lunchtime yet.
Usually coffee, but if it's late at night, I'll get some hot cider. Caffeine doesn't effect me that much, but better safe than sorry if I'm going to bed soon.
I'm almost done with A Circle of Sisters by Judith Flanders. It's about the MacDonald sisters who were all wives or mothers of famous men in the Victorian era (and so they connected the writer Rudyard Kipling, the 3x prime minister Stanley Baldwin, the Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Bourne-Jones, and the Royal Academy Director Edward Poynter). It's really interesting.
I think I'm going to read Kathryn Hughes's biography of George Eliot next.

I just finished Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. Or sort of. The audiobook I downloaded from the library was missing the last part, but someone else told me the end. I think I'm going to start City of Thieves by David Benihoff next. It was a gift from someone who knows my taste in books.
QOTW: Depends on the time of the day. It would be coffee on a weekend afternoon, but herbal tea at night.
I'm re-reading A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson at the moment. Since it's the long-awaited 14th and last book in the series, I read it super fast when I first got it and wanted to go through it more slowly to see what I missed.
I think I will pick up Anna Karenina next.
My QOTW answer varies widely - all 3 depending on time of day and where I am. I do a lot of my reading during my commute so usually nothing to drink there. At night, definitely a glass of wine!
Not really sure what to read next. Stressing over a paper due Monday. Ready for the semester to end so that I can curl up with something good! Probably the new NR or start one of her trilogies. I swear I have a girl crush on her. Love her books!
QOTW: Coffee in the mornings, hot cocoa at night Never been a tea drinker, though I am told I should try it.
I finished A Prayer for Owen Meany mid-week and started The Lords of Discipline (Pat Conroy) for book club. I may veg out with some TV tonight as I was in Canada yesterday wine tasting and had a -long- two hour drive home. I have no plans to leave my house tomorrow, so I expect to read a lot.
Like others, depending on the time of day, either tea or wine.
